Why Modern Believers Should Keep the Feast of Dedication

A Feminine, Faith-Led Perspective for Single Women of Faith

Sis, let’s talk about a feast most believers overlook…
The Feast of Dedication also known as Hanukkah.

While everyone else is getting ready for Christmas trees, lights, and gift shopping, many believers dismiss Hanukkah as “a Jewish holiday.” But in reality?
    It’s a biblical feast.
    Yeshua Himself honored it.
And it carries deep spiritual meaning especially for single women who want to walk set-apart.

So this year, instead of decking the halls, let’s follow Yeshua’s example, rededicate our temples, and keep the Feast of Dedication with intention and holiness.

Yeshua Kept the Feast, So We Follow His Example

    Let’s start here:

“And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
And Jesus walked in the temple…” — John 10:22–23

    Yeshua didn’t just show up.
    He participated.
    He honored it.

And if our Messiah kept this feast, then it holds real spiritual weight.

    His example shows us:

    • this feast is still meaningful
    • it is not “Old Testament only”
    • it is absolutely worth honoring today

As women striving to walk like Him, we follow His footsteps with reverence.

A Feast Rooted in Scripture Not Tradition

Many believers don’t realize the Feast of Dedication is fully documented in Scripture:

    📜 1 Maccabees 4:36–59
    📜 2 Maccabees 10:1–8

Now sis, if you’re wondering, “Okay, but what exactly is Dedication/Hanukkah?” I got you.

The feast began when Israel rededicated the temple after Antiochus defiled it.
What followed was a beautiful celebration of holiness being restored:

    • The altar was rebuilt.
    • The sanctuary was cleansed.
    • Offerings were restored.
    • The people rejoiced before YHWH for eight days.

    This wasn’t man-made tradition.
This was a spiritual renewal for the nation of Israel.

And the same feast Yeshua honored in John 10 is the very same celebration described here.

Dedication Is a Call to Personal Holiness

The physical temple was cleansed and rededicated…
but today YOU are the temple.

“Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit?”
    1 Corinthians 6:19–20

Once you understand this, the Feast of Dedication becomes deeply personal:

✨ A time to cleanse your spirit
✨ A time to return to righteousness
✨ A time to let YHWH remove what’s weighing your heart down
✨ A time to rededicate your habits, your mind, your lifestyle, and your walk to TMH

It’s not about candles or gifts.
It’s about purity, purpose, and spiritual realignment.

Ways to Rededicate Your Temple (Especially as a Single Woman)

During this eight-day feast, you have a beautiful opportunity to prepare your spirit for a new year.

“Ye are the light of the world…” — Matthew 5:14–16
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet…” — Psalm 119:105

As you honor this feast, you’re reminded to:

    • guard your spiritual light
    • walk in righteousness
    • reflect His character in your lifestyle
    • remove anything that dims your glow
    • create space for clarity, holiness, and healing

It’s a season of softness, beauty, and connection with YHWH.

    Let it refresh you.

It Connects You Back to the Roots of Your Faith

Honoring the Feast of Dedication reconnects you to:

    • your Israelite heritage
    • your biblical identity
    • the culture of Scripture
    • the practices Yeshua Himself followed

It’s a gentle way of reclaiming your set-apart walk, especially in a world filled with winter holidays that don’t align with the Word.

These eight days give you time to:

    • reflect
    • repent
    • restore
    • declutter
    • reset spiritually
    • recommit your heart
    • prepare for a new year with a clean spirit

It’s like a spiritual detox wrapped in joy and light.

    Final Encouragement

Sis, the Feast of Dedication is not just history.
    It’s an invitation.

✨ An invitation to rededicate your life.
✨ An invitation to return to holiness.
✨ An invitation to walk in light.
✨ An invitation to draw closer to YHWH in your single season.

    And trust me…
    He sees your obedience.
    He honors your sacrifice.
And He delights in your desire to walk in truth.

I’d love to hear how you plan to keep the feast this year drop a comment, share your thoughts, or send this to a sister who’s also walking this narrow path.

    With love,
    Gavriella K. 💛

  • Meekness as Strength, Not Weakness

    Meekness as Strength, Not Weakness

When many people hear the word “meek,” they picture someone timid, shy, or unable to stand up for themselves.

In today’s culture—where boldness, “standing on business,” are celebrated meekness is often mistaken for weakness. But Scripture paints a completely different picture.

    Meekness isn’t weakness.
    It isn’t passivity.
    It isn’t being a doormat.

Meekness is strength under control—a sign of discipline, humility, and deep trust in TMH.

    Defining Meekness

    Biblically, meekness reflects gentle strength.

The Greek word often translated as “meek” is praus, which refers to mildness of disposition, gentleness of spirit, and humility.

None of that is weakness. It’s power that’s guided by wisdom.

Meekness doesn’t mean you lack courage or opinion. It means you know when and how to exercise strength in a way that honors TMH.

    Meekness as Inner Strength

Meekness shows up as self-control, patience, and humility.

    • When someone offends you, it’s easy to snap back.
    • When life feels unfair, it’s natural to lash out or complain.

But meekness chooses restraint. It says, “I trust TMH to handle this I don’t have to fight every battle with my flesh.”

Meekness allows us to stand firm without being harsh or bitter. It’s the kind of strength that stays calm in conflict and patient in waiting, trusting that YHWH is in control.

    Biblical Examples of Meekness

Yeshua is the perfect picture of meekness.

He had all authority in Heaven and Earth, yet He chose humility, servanthood, and gentleness. And there was nothing weak about Him. He was also described as austere—a man of conviction and strength.

Here are two examples of meek women in Scripture:

    Ruth:
She displayed meekness by humbly gleaning in the fields to provide for herself and Naomi. She didn’t demand to be covered or treated special. Her faithfulness and humility were rewarded with a righteous husband and a legacy in the line of Yeshua.

    Esther:
Even as queen, Esther didn’t rely on her title. She fasted and prayed before approaching the king to save her people. Her courage was wrapped in humility and wisdom.

    Why Meekness Matters Today

Meekness is essential in every area of life:

    • In relationships: It helps us handle conflict without lashing out or tearing down.
    • In leadership: It builds trust, showing that we’re approachable and mindful—not prideful.
    • Spiritually: Meekness keeps our hearts soft and teachable, ready to receive correction and grow in faith.

A meek spirit keeps us from thinking too highly of ourselves—and keeps us aligned with TMH.

    Cultivating Meekness in Daily Life

Meekness isn’t something we achieve on our own. It’s a fruit of the Spirit—it grows as we walk with TMH.

    Practical ways to develop meekness:

    • Pray for guidance: Ask TMH to help you respond in humility and gentleness.
    • Hold your tongue: Pause before speaking, especially in frustration.
    • Listen before reacting: James 1:19 reminds us to be “swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.”
    • Stay teachable: Be willing to learn from correction, life lessons, and others’ wisdom.

Small, daily choices create a lifestyle of meekness.

    Final Encouragement

    Meekness is not weakness.
It’s the strength of a woman who knows who she is in Yeshua—and doesn’t have to prove herself to the world.

    True strength is quiet.
    It’s humble.
    It’s steady.

Yeshua walked in meekness and changed the world.
Let’s follow His example and let our gentle, Spirit-led hearts reflect His power and love.

  • Temperance in a Culture That Says “Go for It

Temperance in a Culture That Says “Go for It

Sometimes it feels like the whole world is in agreement:
Do what you want. Chase every feeling. Buy whatever. Eat whatever. Post it all online.

We live in a culture obsessed with “living your best life.” And there’s nothing wrong with enjoying life and having fun. But as daughters of TMH, we have to be mindful of the fruit we bear and temperance is often the first fruit to get overlooked in a world that never says no.

“And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” – Galatians 5:24

The culture of ” Go for It”

Everywhere we look, there’s an invitation to indulge:

    • Ads convince us we need things we don’t.
    • Social media flaunts endless hauls and luxury trips.
    • The world tells us, “Do the thing. You deserve it.”

But all this “freedom” comes at a cost. People are unfulfilled, anxious, and trapped in habits they can’t break. The more we give in to our own way, the emptier we feel.

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” – Proverbs 14:12

    What is Temperance?

Galatians 5:23 lists temperance as a fruit of the Spirit—it’s self-control. It means we don’t allow our desires or impulses dictate our actions.

t’s more than saying no to staying out late or overspending. Temperance is surrendering our will to YHWH. It’s choosing moderation and discipline in a culture that celebrates excess.

    • “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” – Proverbs 25:28

Temperance protects us. It sets boundaries for our spirit before the world can.

    Why Temperance feels So Hard

We’ve never had more access to temptation than we do now:

    • Delivery apps bring cravings to our door.
    • Streaming keeps us entertained 24/7.
    • Social media makes us feel like we’re behind in life.
    • Promiscuity is celebrated, and modesty is mocked.

The world shouts, “Life is short! Don’t miss out!”
But chasing every desire often leaves us more empty than before.

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” – 1 John 2:16

The Beauty and Power of Temperance

Temperance isn’t about living a boring life or saying no to joy.
    It’s actually freedom.

    When we walk in temperance:

    • Our minds, bodies, and spirits are protected.
    • We make decisions led by the Holy Spirit not our impulses.
    • We experience real joy and fulfillment, not temporary fixes.

Temperance gives us room to hear TMH clearly and walk in purpose instead of reacting to every emotion.

Practical Ways to Walk in Temperance

    1. Pause and pray.
Before acting on impulse, ask TMH: “Does this honor You?”
“In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” – Proverbs 3:6
    2. Find accountability.
Share your goals with a trusted sister who will encourage and correct you in love.
“Two are better than one… for if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
    3. Set limits.
Whether it’s social media, shopping, food, or relationships know your boundaries and keep them.
    4. Remember your identity.
You are not defined by what you buy, post, or experience.
“Ye are not your own… For ye are bought with a price.” – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

    Final Encouragement

Temperance might seem out of place in a world that screams “yes” to everything, but it’s one of the most beautiful and freeing fruits of the Spirit.

Sis, you don’t have to chase every urge or prove anything to anyone.
    Your self-control is your strength.
    Your obedience is your protection.

“Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” – Romans 12:2

Let’s be women who shine with temperance, reflecting the peace and freedom of Yeshua in a world that’s constantly chasing the next thing.se when we say no to lesser things, we’re saying yes to the greater things God has for us.
